What is a Microd?

Here at our track, we race two different types of cars. Microds, which are full body cars, and Open Wheels, which are similar to 1/4 Midgets. These race cars are "home built" and are comprised of steel tubing chassis with wood, Lexan or aluminum bodies. Power is supplied by a 6.5 HP Briggs & Stratton engine. Rules on engine modifications, car weight and safety specifications are strictly enforced by local and state governing bodies. All drivers must wear safety belts, gloves, wrist restraints and an approved helmet. Today there are more than 25 drivers between the age of 5 and 18, competing weekly for the checkered flag. The excitement at the Wallington, NY track on any given night is truly awesome!
The Various Classes are broken down into age groups.
Each class has specific rules on weight and engine restrictions.
